Building 'The Machan' in Mumbai - How we Designed & Delivered an Office as Luxurious as the Resort

For years, we at Hipcouch have lent our expertise in interior design and decor by offering various customized design solutions. Our numerous clients range from luxurious offices to beautiful homes. We have won the trust of several clients and developers of major projects over the years, and our work still continues to redefine the standards of luxury interior design.

Our latest project of designing the office for the luxury resort ‘The Machan’ stands testimony to our efficient and enthusiastic designers who brim with creative insight.

Here’s how we went about designing the luxury yet rustic office for 'The Machan’.

Brief:

About the client:

‘The Machan’ is a unique eco-resort with tree houses in a serene forest. The task of designing and building their office was assigned to us.

The requirements:

The client wanted the new office to reflect the ethos of their brand.

What we adored:

The decor with mix and match of natural and elemental rustic items that mirror the eco-friendly nature of the brand.

The office needed to be a mix of luxury while keeping the rustic charm for what the resort is known for. This required blending styles like that of rustic chic where there must be a flawless balance between natural items that blend seamlessly into the present-day modern lifestyle.

In other words, we aimed to deliver something that could be a symbol of Rustic Décor Excellence.

Building The Machan - How We Achieved It...

This perfect blend was achieved in ‘The Machan’ office design through the use of earthy tones and metallic yellow colours. These colours also blend well with the present technology required for the modern-day office.

Lumber Chandelier:

The rustic lumber chandelier makes a unique style statement. The wood base for the lighting fixtures above the workspace floats mid-air offering a majestic eye-appeal. This also reflected the company’s treehouse accommodations floating in the air amidst nature.

Vintage Bulbs:

The vintage bulbs hanging at various heights offer the required depth and visual appeal.

Geometric Wooden Canopy Ceiling:

We brought an artistic touch to the ceiling with the geometric wooden canopy ceiling design and lighting.

Spectacular Star Anise Ceiling:

This striking ceiling design resembled star anise with all its complexity and sophistication. The intriguing lighting offsets the minimalist furniture, by drawing all attention towards the polygon tessellations in the ceiling.

Tungsten Kettle Bulbs for a Nostalgic Touch:

We chose an innovative way to bring in nostalgic memories with these tungsten kettle bulbs in the refreshment zone. The metallic yellow accentuates the new lighting. It acts as a bright canvas for the loose furniture, offering a more brilliant vibe to the refreshment room.

Perfect Cladding:

Cladding patterns on the ceiling helps to generate interest and draws the attention to the small spaced room. The angular cladding is just perfect for the unconventionally shaped space.

Cosy Micro-Zones:

The small and sleek encapsulated microzones offer a comfortable work atmosphere. The furniture picks well in the dark chestnut brown ceiling and the exposed tungsten bulbs hanging outside reminds us of the retro industrialist setting of the past. The floor design complements the rustic charm.

Origami Resembling Ceiling Structure:

We chose a geometric panelled wooden ceiling resembling origami art form for that warm feel. There is a flow of both natural and artificial light, creating a lively design during the day and a fixed appearance during the night.

The Royal Furniture Pieces:

This awe-inspiring piece of seating furniture creates a royal feel.

The carefully chosen royal office desk below, set in earthen colour and the plush seater complements the wooden panelled ceiling giving an air of aristocracy with its intricately carved designs.

This super chic storage cupboard is just apt for the corner.

A touch of the green element to the furniture adds beauty and a sense of serene nature.

The End Result...

A stunning office space reflecting the brand of the client in all spheres and the thrilled and satisfied client as you can see from the testimonial below:

"We were looking for an interior designer to help us design + build our new office space. The idea was to hire a full-service agency which could help with the process end to end. Since we have built and currently operate a luxury resort, we had very specific ideas and inputs about how our new office would look and feel. We wanted our new office to reflect the ethos of our brand.

We were looking for a designer who could help mould & further build on our vision. Ridhi and the Hipcouch team did a fantastic job with both design and execution. The design process was thorough and the technical acumen shown by the team while building out some complex features helped produce a high-quality end product. Also, the team worked super hard and did everything possible to make sure our move into the new office was smooth! We are very happy with how our space turned out and love our new office!"
